Our Story

After graduating from Clemson University in 1986, Michael Pennington Nieri started building homes in the Midlands of South Carolina. He wanted to build something better than what he saw others delivering in the marketplace. Michael envisioned well-built, durable custom homes built in great settings with his signature style and quality. Fast forward to today and Michael Pennington Homes’ quality craftsmanship is showcased in some of the finest homes throughout South Carolina.

For his innovative leadership in his industry and community, Michael has been recognized by being inducted into the SC Builders Hall of Fame (2018), twice as “Builder of the Year” by the Building Industry Association of the Midlands: the first time in 2007 and most recently in 2015.

Even as the business has grown, Michael and his team have become deeply committed to charitable works and building better communities. This is demonstrated by his company’s efforts who together support numerous charitable activities including the Boys Farm of Newberry, the Clemson University Foundation, Cardinal Newman Catholic School, SC Flood Relief and other community building projects.
